What makes a person truly beautiful inside? Kindness? Empathy? The ability to work with others? Not to mention a rockin’ body on the outside? That’s what worked for True Beauty winner, Julia Anderson last night on the season finale.
Born and raised in Dallas, the 23 year old is a former pageant winner is a dancer/performer/magician’s assistant with plenty of southern charm and grace. She beat out Joel the perfectly chiseled Adonis with enough confidence for two people and Billy (my fav) the slightly older (yah, 31 is ancient) yet extremely handsome vitamin store owner from Idaho.

True Beauty runners-up; Joel “looks good naked workout routine” Rush and Billy “vitamin smoothie” Jeffrey.
I don’t know how they can make a successful second season because the hidden camera premise is out of the bag but kudo’s to Tyra Banks and Ashton Kutcher for their attempts at a more thoughtful reality show.

On True Beauty this week, the beautiful people had to show a group of teens their take on kindness and sincerity. They had to do a fake fitness challenge and it wasn’t easy for the contestants and 21 year old Laura who basically lifts shopping bags and not weights along with Ray the guy with mirrors on his shoulders lost.

They thought they were being tested on their fitness abilities but were judged on their kindness towards the lonely kid at a table and interactions with the group of teen judges. Ray was eliminated for the many instances that the judges showed him on the secret camera video and self-involved Laura got to go back to the house.
The finale for True Beauty will be on February 23 on ABC at 10

My favorite True Beauty contestant was voted off the show.
CJ
The 26 year old barista from L.A. had to leave the show when the three judges, Nole Marin, Cheryl Tiegs, and judge/host Vanessa Minnillo showed him his secret failed tests. I thought they gave some shaky reasons for letting him go because he really did understand what true beauty meant and he passed all 3 final tests too.
Billy
Billy was sent to the Hall of Beauty with CJ but got to stay because they thought he was sincere in his last plea and he passed the first test of the night (giving the senior citizen his seat). That was his lucky night.

CJ, the hunky barista, made himself captain of a losing team on this weeks ABC’s True Beauty and was sent to the Hall of Beauty for the second week in a row. Good thing he was up against Monique Santiago the Go Go dancer from Manhattan because her rude and unkind behavior made it an easy choice for the three judges.
Monique the newest Ugly on the Inside Beauty
This weeks hidden camera test was entitled Compassion and she showed none whatsoever. When confronted with a crying makeup artist, Monique turned away and then let out a very loud burp instead of comforting the actor/woman. CJ, on the other hand sat next to the woman and consoled her. Now that’s why I like that guy! Judge Nole Marin likes him too. I think I saw a little druel dribbling down his chin.

This week on ABC’s True Beauty, Ashley Michaelson, the 21 year old designer’s assistant from Rochester, NY was eliminated for showing the judges her ugly insides.
Divided into three teams of three, they had to shop for a “Million Dollar Look” on Melrose Avenue. During the challenge each team was approached by a woman asking for donations to a children’s charity. Ignoring her was Ashley’s second mistake; her first was the bared-teeth/down and dirty way she wanted to get clothes for free by pretending they were a charity themselves. Lying to the unsuspecting donator’s was not cool. And to top it off, while on her way to the Hall of Beauty for her beat down, she failed another test when she watched a stunt man fall from a bike and didn’t ask if he needed help.
I have found the saddest part of this show is the eliminated contestants unrepentant behavior when they see their misdeeds on caught on tape.
ooh-lala
I wonder who will be the true beauty at the end? There is one early contender in my humble opinion; CJ Miller, the 26 year old barista from L.A. has the soul of a poet and the body of a Greek God. yummy
Time will tell…

I was so ready not to like the new show, True Beauty on ABC Monday night. But after the initial boring entrances of all the contestants, things got more and more interesting as the show progressed. The show is exec-produced by Tyra Banks (the beauty) and Ashton Kutcher (the brains behind Punk’d and Beauty and the Geek) which, in my opinion, is the reason for its quirkiness. It’s shaping up to be not your typical beauty contest and I look forward to more.
According to the ABC True Beauty web site, “the series will determine the True Beauty of six stunning females and four handsome males who will live together in a spectacular Los Angeles mansion as they undergo a series of challenges to determine who is truly the most beautiful.”

Hadiyyah-lah Sa’id was eliminated because she flunked their hidden camera tests of beauty on the inside. She was furious. Lesson NOT learned.
True Beauty can be seen on Mondays at 10 EST on ABC.
