Tyson has great aim
Coach is getting on the rest of the Timbira tribe so he was lucky his tribe won immunity. He’s a definite character with a flair for the dramatic so we’ll see how long he lasts. Although, removing him might prove to be more difficult now that they are going solo next week (or that’s what the preview for next week alludes to anyway).
Jalapao lost both challenges which made for some interesting strategy amongst the divided group and Taj lost some footing in her secret alliance, mainly because she’s letting Stephan hold the immunity idol. Duh! Why she’s allowing that I have no clue but she had better take it back before they are on their own.

My favorite part of this episode was Taj making the fake immunity idol and Joe actually believing it was real. What would have made it even better? Joe giving the idol to Sydney to save herself.
That would have made great TV…

Now the secret 4 alliance between Taj, Brendan, Stephen, and Sierra is complete with not one but two immunity idols. And one Timbira tribe member is onto them; namely Tyson. That’s who they must watch out for if they want to make it to the merge without having to use their idols and it can only be done if no one finds out they have the idols. But, duh, that’s one conclusion the other members will make because of the number of times Taj and Brendan have been to Exile Island.

“Let’s Make These Hungry tribe members wobble like a bunch of drunks” Challenge
The Luxury Challenge was a trip to Casa De La Charmin. EWW I guess on Survivor toilet paper is a luxury and Jalapao minus Stephen got to eat real food, drink coffee and then go to the bathroom.
Back at the Jalapao camp, Spencer and Sydney share a quiet moment of lies when Spencer leads her to believe he is straight. He admitted to the camera, “My tribemates are not aware that I’m gay. I haven’t told them only because I feel like in the culture that we live in, there’s not much to gain by finding out that you are gay.
Spencer
But in this case, it didn’t matter that he kept himself in the closet because he got eliminated leaving Taj to play another day. He was the fifth member to be voted off.

Jalapao wins: Taj last one standing and gets a camp raid
Timbira tribe member, Coach, looks like a romance cover model with his long 80’s hair and strong jaw line. And with a name like Coach you know he’s gotta have a lot to say. I don’t think he’s going to last much longer.
Taj, Brendon, Sierra, and Stephan are now called Team Secret but everyone knows secrets aren’t usually kept for long and by the looks of things it might be spilled at next episode. So, Stephan stumbled into an alliance and looked very grateful. This might prove interesting later when the merge occurs coupled with the fact that Brendan has one of the immunity idols and Taj should be getting the other one now that she has many of the clues.

At tribal council, Sydney’s feminine wiles were working on Sandy’s nerves and she saw her as a threat. But it wasn’t enough for the tribe to vote her off and so 53 year old Psycho Sandy was eliminated.

This is the 49 year old before he went on the show
and this,

is Jerry experiencing Survivor while being sick.
All the enthusiasm and positive thinking can’t help you when you get sick and on Survivor it’s usually the last nail in your coffin.
Timbira tribe member Jerry Sims, a 49 year old 1st Sergeant and specialist in Nuclear Operations, just came back from a stint in Afghanistan and thought being on Survivor would be a great way to make a million dollars but when his stomach pains took a turn for the worse, he let everyone know he wasn’t feeling well and that was all the tribe needed. This was great news for Erinn who thought she was a goner.
He’s going to miss the possible alliance which was forming between Taj, Brendan (now with the immunity idol), Stephen, and Sickly Sierra. It sounds like a great way to use the time on Exile Island.

Survivor will premiere on Thursday, February 12 at 8 and will be the 18th season. It will also be the season with the youngest contestant. Spencer Duhn from Lakeland, FL is 19 years old and is a student at the University of Florida. He along with the other competitors will be left to survive amidst scorching temperatures, torrential downpours, and dangerous wildlife in Tocantin, Brazil for 39 days.
The theme for this season has to do with first impressions and one person from each tribe will be chosen to remain behind based on these first impressions.
Survivor: Tocantins will premiere on CBS Thursday, February 12, 2009 at 8 pm. EST

The next Survivor will take place in Tocantins, a state located in central Brazil. There are abundant rivers and an equatorial climate. That means hot weather and more bikinis (for the guy fans). This is the 18th edition of Survivor and is considered one of the most rugged locations yet. Expect high temperatures, torrential downpours, and dangerous wildlife. One crew member has reportedly drowned while working on the set. Alton Desiree did not resurface after instructed to fix something under water. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family.
CBS Survivor: Tocantins – The Brazilian Highlands will premiere on Thursday, February 12 at 8 pm.

Kenny Hoang from Survivor was my pick as winner because of his chess-like maneuvering of the fellow cast mates but this also caused his demise. In my humble opinion, this should have been a reason for keeping Kenny to be partnered in the end with because he had a hand in the elimination of most of the jury. Most of the jury was a bitter “can’t see beyond their nose” type of player. And that’s the hardest kind of jury to sway. They don’t see the game for what it really is and only see that they didn’t win.
According to an interview with Ken Hoang on www.realitytvworld.com , he didn’t think Sugar would ever think of taking Bob because, “I had no [idea] that she wanted to take Bob to the end, because at that point I thought that no one wanted to take Bob to the end because I saw four Kota members on the jury.” One more reason I thought Ken was a good player.
FYI Kenny started the show at a whopping 115 pounds and whittled down to 85-90. WOW that is one little man.

Corinne delivered the most sour grapes I have ever heard on a Survivor finale. Even “steady-tempered” Jeff Probst could barely hide his contempt. I hope when her father passes away she will understand the extent of her horrible statement she made to Sugar when the jury had the Q and A time before voting. She said, “You are an unemployed, uneducated leech on society, and the only thing I would vote to give you is a handful of antidepressants so that no one has to be subjected to your constant crying anymore. And maybe if you got some, then maybe it would sound a little more sincere when you are crying about your dead father.”
Now that kind of person is difficult to like.

Kenny was skating on thin ice tonight on Survivor Gabon. It looks like his masterminding has come back to haunt him.

He maneuvered his way into a corner. Maybe he’ll be the next to go. Sugar out-maneuvered him with her tattling about his plan to blindside the owl-eyed teacher, Bob, who is understandably Kenny’s newest target because of all his wins.

But I don’t understand why they offed Crystal and not Kenny?
In my humble opinion, this Survivor has had the most chess-like moves of them all. And the backdrop is gorgeous too. I have already started planning my families Survivor party. We always have a few appetizers that represent the current setting - I’m thinking mangoes, watermelon, crackers, cheese, and deli meats like tonight’s reward challenge.
