Celebrity Rehab’er to get own Reality Show?

jeff c

Now that Jeff Conaway is out of rehab things are looking up for him. He has a personal coach who has helped him tremendously with his back pain although he’s still on some meds, he says he’s slowly weaning off of them for good. He is also still with his enabler girlfriend Vikki but they really looked good together on E! News last weekend. His back was much straighter and he even waltzed with her too. He also stated that he is going to have a reality show based on his life but I can’t find anything else about it on the net so don’t hold your breath if it doesn’t happen.

One Strike Already for Steven Adler

steven adler

Three strikes Steven and you’re out of the Sober House.

Sober House on Vh1 premiered on January 15. This show will be a continuation of Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew. The show re-introduced most of the cast from Celebrity Rehab who will be at the house for 30 days along with Jen, the house counselor, who removed needles from Steven Adler’s luggage. He even had to be stripped search and was found to have heroin on him. Not a good beginning. (P.S. I hate to watch people vomit)

Steven Adler received one strike and it was only day one. He’s a hard-core drug addict who’s had a very rough life.

I hope he turns a corner during his thirty days.

Will “Sober House” work?

amber

Sober House, a spin-off of Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew, will debut on Thursday, January 15 at 10/9 on VH1. The new graduates (Rodney King, Nikki McKibbon, Steven Adler, and Amber Smith) plus Shifty Binzer, Mary Carey, and Andy Dick will join them for this look into an addicts transition from rehab to one step closer to “reality”. Do they have toxic friends or jobs? Can they handle the everyday stress that is life? Sounds like this show will make rehab look like a picnic.

dr drew
According to the Sober House press release, “Dr. Drew hopes to use his celebrity patients to humanize the process and show viewers that treatment is a viable way to break the cycle of addiction.”
For a sneak peek of the first episode check out vh1 on January 9.

Graduation for Celebrity Rehab

dr drew

The season finale of Celebrity Rehab 2 on VH1 held few surprises but was well done. On the VH1 web site for the show, Dr. Drew explained, “People don’t understand that rehab is a long-term proposition. It’s unraveling a lifetime of addiction.” Perhaps for a less polished and grittier look at these addicts a longer format a la Big Brother 24/7 feed would educate the viewer even better?

 And the graduates?

Well, Jeff “drug-addled” Conaway was kicked out right before graduation for kicking his co-dependent girlfriend in the chest. Ouch! So, he didn’t complete his three weeks.

But many of the graduates gave sincere speeches on their hopes of recovery with the exception of Gary Busey who is not on the same wave length as most of us anyway. What gave me hope were those guests who decided to go onto sober living. I was glad when Amber Smith, Nikki McKibben, Steve Adler, Rodney King and late-comer Seth Binzer signed on for it. We will see them do their thing on Sober House debuting in January on VH1, along with Marey Carey from season 1 and Andy Dick two more colorful characters from the world of celebrity.

Celebrity Rehab Soap Opera

Jeff Conaway is the lead star in this celebrity soap opera on this week’s Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew. He’s the hardest one to watch because he whines so much but years of pain killers have warped his pain response. It’s whacked.

Amber Smith says she has a paralyzing fear of the world and feels safer when she is drugged.

Steven Adler didn’t want to participate in feeding the hungry in downtown LA because he thinks he’s going to drink so Sean Stewart, Amber Smith, and Tawny Kitaen went. Amber felt so anxious that they had to leave. She kept thinking of the times she and her mother would go to shelters.
