Jaime (pictured above on the left) showed us her ugly side when she became extremely impatient while a little shopkeeper opened each door of the herb shop where the clues were hidden.

On The Amazing Race, the 6 remaining teams flew over 2,000 miles to Thailand for their next leg of the race. First they had to find a gorilla statue at the Phuket Zoo. Taxi drivers (again) made this part difficult for one of the teams. Mel and Mike’s driver took them in the opposite direction causing them to be in last place for the rest of the show.

After they found their clue in the mouth of the gorilla, they all had to have their picture taken with Esso the tiger. I’m sure it wasn’t too reassuring when they spotted the tiger handler had 1 arm missing. Then they all had to get “stomped and sat on” by an elephant.

The heat was too much for Margie as she collapsed on the mat after running and pulling a rickshaw down the streets of Phuket. Tammy and Victor won this leg of the race by default because brothers Mark and Michael incurred two 30 minute penalties pushing them to third. They tampered with the tire pumps and then let a taxi driver lead them to the next leg. See? Poor reading comprehension will get you on The Amazing Race.

Mike and Mel are out but were a great team to watch

It was the end of the road for the Thong Wearing Flight Attendants

The chaos of India was no match for Victor and Tammy as they sailed through this episode of The Amazing Race. They made it look easy as they fed camels, drove through Jaipur traffic, and danced for money. All the other teams were challenged by it after an even start once the flight touched down in India.

Team Thong was close behind Tammy and Victor but their chances came to a screeching halt when their taxi driver had to stop for gas. If it were not for this, I think they would have beat the the Stunt Brothers. These are the kinds of eliminations that are unfair. Taxi drivers have notoriously prevented people from winning this race from the first season.

The 7 teams left Krasnoyarsk by train and it became a leveler with only one train scheduled to leave later in the day. They got to experience the deadly cold of Siberia and sleeper trains.

Here are a few quotes from tonight’s episode:

“All those consonants must mean its going to be a cold city.” Christie and Jodi.

The Stunt Brothers said while running through traffic, “We know how to get hit by a car.”

“I’d rather party with virgin brides than snow plows.” Mike said when explaining that he picks the competitions by the how much fun it is over any other aspect.

On the final leg of the race, The Run Winter Marathon in was a funny yet chilling competition. Following the local custom of running in your skivies in a marathon, one member of each team had to run in the freezing cold.  So Luke, Tammy, Cara, Mike, Mark, Jen, and Christie had the dubious distinction of doing this part. Christie did it in a thong and they came in last but it was a non-elimination round so they got to try another day of the Amazing Race.

Mel and Mike

On the second episode of the Amazing Race, Father/Son Team, Mel and Mike, thought they were goners when all the other teams ran down the hill instead of waiting for the winds to change in the ParaGliding/Run Down the Hill Challenge. Yes, I’d rather watch the Amazing Race rather than the Oscars. The dad chose to do the challenge because he thought all he would have to do is fly through the air to the bottom of the hill without having to strain his groin muscle even further. And yes, I also hate writing about elderly men’s groin muscles.

I also hate writing about how inspirational Luke is! Yes, he’s deaf. Get over it! He’s trying to say he’s no different than anyone else so let him be like everyone else and stop pointing it out.

Steve and Linda

What I will write about is how sad it was to watch Linda get lost going down the hill at the first challenge. She looked like a lost lamb from the first episode and I hope she and Steve enjoyed themselves on the show.

On the first of eight eliminations on the premiere of the Amazing Race the contestants went to Lucarno, Switzerland and got to do a crazy thing and a wildly exhilarating thing. The crazy thing was climbing a steep and slippery slope to retrieve 50 pound wheels of cheese and run to the bottom of the hill until they collected 4 wheels. This challenge looked horribly exhausting.

The exhilarating challenge was bungee jumping off one of the highest bungee spots in the world. Way Cool

Luke and Margie placed first and the bickering couple Preston and Jennifer were eliminated.

Amazing Race is on Sundays at 8 PM on CBS

This morning on the CBS Morning Show, Starr and her brother Nick, picked up their Million dollar check for taking first place on this season of the Amazing Race. Ken and Tina (Team Eyebrow) took a close second and the Frat Boys AKA Dandrew placed a distant third.

All of the teams cheered them onto the final mat with the exception of Toni and Dallas, the mother/son team who had lost their passports in Moscow.

Let’s hope they got home safely and didn’t get interrogated under a hot light in a smoky room for hours. “So you say you are in a race on television? Huh? I half never heard of such a ting. Take dem away…” Sound of heavy metal door clanging shut.

Tonight is the finish line for the final three couples on the CBS reality show, the Amazing Race. According to the official Amazing Race web site, the racers will be sent to Oregon for the final leg and will have to deal with logging and going high up on something.

Oh, and they get to ride on a zip line across the gorgeous Columbia River and it also sounds like they will have the proverbial memory test about the previous legs. After flying, driving, walking, running, and crawling their way for 40,000 miles, one team will win 1 Million Dollars. Nice prize…
