Reality television has been around long before many of us were born. Back in the 40’s, shows like Alan Funt’s Candid Camera showed unsuspecting people getting punked. So reality tv isn’t a new genre of television shows, its just gotten more popular in recent years. One main reason is the low cost of producing them. Regular people don’t command large salaries like actors.

Cops and the Real World are two of the most popular and longest running American shows; both starting in the 90’s.

It is my guilty pleasure and I don’t think reality tv is going away anytime soon. I’m a fan, a writer, and a critic. Please enjoy this blog for what it is - my humble opinion.
