The sober celebrities in Sober House are taking the hard way to a new life. All of them with the exception of Rodney King (by far the most serious about his last chance on a healthy life) started out by going out to the L.A. party scene. I couldn’t tell if they did any drinking but it sure looked like Mary Carey was “jonesing” for some Vodka. Her so-called boyfriend/manager did nothing to support her and should be removed from her life. He’s a wanna-be reality star anyway and hangs off the decaying fringe of Hollywood. We’ll see how much camera time he’ll manage to get from this show.

Then of course, there’s Seth with his boyish charm who is eager to listen to the devil on his shoulder and started off his first night out by being late, albeit sober. He might be the next one to go.

Rodney King chose to have a sober night out with the house mentors and for that he was the star of the show. All the others appear on shaky ground with their choice of tempting themselves by going to bars and nightclubs.
